Accreditation

Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary is accredited by the Commission on Accrediting of the Association of Theological Schools in the United States and Canada, and the following degree programs are approved: Master of Divinity, Master of Arts in Religion, Master of Sacred Theology.

The seminary has been fully accredited by ATS since 1944. Its last review was in 2003 and the next scheduled accreditation review will take place in 2013.

Statement on Educational Effectiveness 

Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary is committed to quality theological education.  The institution engages stakeholders through a variety of channels to ensure effectiveness to seminary programs and development of our students.  Data-driven analysis guides the evaluation of internal institutional effectiveness, through such tools as student and graduate surveys and interviews, course evaluations, and program assessment of outcomes and objectives.  In addition, external institution effectiveness is evaluated through feedback from ecclesiastical partners, graduate and alumni data, and through ongoing faculty participation in research and collaboration in the Church, world, and academy.

Students at Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary are given the opportunity to succeed and complete their degree.  The average graduation rate for student entering Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary is 81%.  Additionally, 74% of students participating in a full-time degree program are able to complete their degree program on-time.
